This morning started with East light streaming in through the bathroom blinds, a welcome sight in Oregon during the spring. An hour later the sky was back to dark, the rain poured throughout the day. But just at sunset the clouds parted, and what a beautiful display.

Caught this star-lit tree while walking out of the Keizer Rapids Park last night. 

This Fuji X-E1 is new to me, so I'm trying to put this camera through it's paces. It takes amazing shots, but it does have a tough time metering for Oregon's typical overcast settings.

So I heard a bird thud into our window and found this little guy on our deck, out cold.

There's an old Studebaker parked not too far from my house, a lovely restoration.

Tonight I headed over to the Evergreen Aviation Museum to try and catch some shots of the Hot Air Balloons lighting up the night. It was a bit disappointing to find that the strong winds prevented the balloon teams from inflating their envelopes, but still, those propane burners are certainly impressive!

I love this time of spring, we have nesting boxes around the house and the birds are quite busy taking care of their hatchlings. Today I followed one couple feeding their two week old chicks.

A few weekends back we had an extra visitor around our house. Wally, a big beautiful Doberman mix, was a bit shy around our small, but boisterous, Beagles: Morpheus and Switch.

This weekend I was in Monroe, Washington working on a project with my brother Paul, and his lovely wife Lauren.
