I was on an quick hike yesterday with my daughter Abigail at Mission State Park, just a few miles from our home. We found a nice shelter and I couldn't resist grabbing some shots, Abigail is a bit camera shy so it's tough to get her natural personality, but she does have amazing sharp eyes that really pop. Impromptu meant no reflector or strobe. Mid-day light meant looking for "window light" in the shade of the shelter or nearby trees.

On our way back we found ourselves surrounded by tiny blue dragonflies, darting this way and that.

A lovely way to spend a few hours with my girl.
